In a heart-wrenching turn of events, a Dunamis Church situated in the Mission Ward North Bank area of Makurdi, the capital city of Benue State, suffered a catastrophic collapse. This devastating incident unfolded during the early hours of Tuesday, claiming the life of a dedicated pastor as the structure crumbled.

Reports suggest that at the time of the collapse, four individuals, including the unfortunate pastor, were engaged in prayers within the confines of the church building. Miraculously, three of them narrowly escaped the wreckage, escaping the clutches of tragedy.

The repercussions of the church’s collapse extended beyond its walls, affecting nearby residential buildings and electrical infrastructure. The exact cause of this tragic incident remains shrouded in uncertainty, leaving many questions unanswered.

Upon reaching out for comment, the Police Public Relations Officer for the Benue State Police Command, Anene Sewuese Catherine, expressed unawareness of the incident. However, there is a swift response in progress, with police operatives from the C Division, North Bank, already at the scene. Additionally, emergency response teams are en route to the location of the collapsed building to assess the situation and offer assistance as needed.
