Iran’s Raisi Meets Putin in Moscow

IRAN, RUSSIA PRESIDENTS MEET

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi is set to engage in substantive talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin during his visit to Russia on Thursday.

This strategic meeting reflects the ongoing efforts of both nations to fortify their economic and military alliances in the face of challenges posed by Western sanctions, as communicated by the Kremlin. Dmitry Peskov, the Kremlin spokesperson, confirmed the scheduled Russian-Iranian negotiations on December 7, responding to media inquiries about the impending visit of President Raisi.

This diplomatic exchange comes on the heels of Putin’s visit to Iran in July of the preceding year and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov’s discussions in Tehran in October with regional counterparts.
