Breaking: INEC Declares Uzodinma winner of Imo Gov election

The Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially announced Governor Hope Uzodinma as the victor of the highly contested 2023 Imo State Governorship election.

The results, unveiled by Professor Abayomi Fasina, the Returning Officer, this morning on November 12, indicate that Uzodinma, representing the APC, secured a substantial 540,308 votes. In contrast, his nearest competitor, Emeka Anyanwu of the PDP, garnered a total of 71,503 votes, and Athan Achonu of the Labour Party trailed with 64,081 votes.

However, the aftermath of the election has seen the PDP and Labour Party jointly advocating for the nullification of the Imo Governorship Election, citing alleged irregularities orchestrated by the APC, INEC, and collaboration with law enforcement agencies. The parties claim that the election was marred by rigging, implicating the police and other entities in the process.
