Ahead of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, gubernatorial primaries slated for next month, members of the Enugu-East Council of Traditional Rulers have endorsed the candidature of Engr. Pastor Beloved Dan Anike.
This is even as the monarchs also reiterated their support for the subsisting governorship rotational principle among the three senatorial zones in the states maintaining that it is the turn of Enugu-East senatorial district to produce Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi’s successor.
The Royal Fathers who converged at the palace of HRH, Igwe Tiitus Okolo, Chairman, Enugu-East Council of Traditional Rulers recalled how Engr. Beloved Dan Anike, had as a Community Leader in Umuchigbo, Iji-Nike, single handedly built a town hall, attracted Uzo Aku Primary and Secondary Schools and dispensed bursary to indigent natives who are now professionals in different chosen careers of endeavour.
Speaking on behalf of the Council, HRH, Igwe Louis Nnamani, Traditional Ruler of Alulu Community Nike said, “You are our son who has been tested as a Community Leader, consummate human and capital resources manager that we trust will govern Enugu State well if given the opportunity.
“We all here agree and believe that you will take our dear state to greater heights with the wealth of experience you have garnered as a Youth activist, wealth creator, economic discipline and management, deep insight of social welfare and health care scheme to the less privileged and above all, your natural knack to lift the downtrodden and vulnerable out of poverty through education”.
Responding, the PDP gubernatorial aspirant, Engr. Pastor Beloved Dan Anike, revealed that, ” I am here to seek your fatherly blessing and prayer on my governorship ambition. I am presenting myself for my generation to consolidate on the gains of the past and bridge the gaps for the future.
“I will vent my spleen on boosting our human capital index by targeting 1,000 indigents every year in the 17 council areas for tertiary education, tackle insecurity through natural and defensive approach, expand our tech approach to economic and Internally Generated Revenue, IGR, remodel our agricultural settlement scheme to be akin to that of Israel and embark on massive urban renewal through Public Private Partnership, PPP”.
