A man in his seventies was accused of sexually abusing two toddlers in Enugu state.

The case was reported to the Executive Director, New Life Community Care Initiative (NELCCI) Lady Florence Ifeanyi-Aneke by a good citizen.

According to one of the neighbours, Mr johnson, the act which was committed by one Mr. Ifeanyi Onwuegbu from Isiochi Abia State who lives with his grandchildren at Akwuke by Tippa road Enugu South LGA, Enugu State.

The girls 3 and 5 years old respectively were sexually molested by their grandfather Mr. Ifeanyi Onwuegbu. The children were said to be living with their grandfather while their biological mother who is a single mother and never married visits them at interval.

One of the girls name withheld who is 5years old said that the cry of her little sister woke her up in the mid night, when she woke up she saw her grandfather removing her little sister`s pant amidst her heavy cry after which he penetrated the small girl.

Thankful, the 5 year old was outspoken she went straight to inform the neighbours in the morning about what transpired in the night between her grandfather and little sister.

Thank God for the neighbourhood who didn’t hesitate to inform NELCCI. The case was referred to WACOL who alongside NELCCI took the girls to hospital, they are currently receiving treatment while the paedophile grandfather is under police custody for further investigation.
