Primate Ayodele To Tinubu: Combat Monopoly, Revive Economy

Primate Ayade

Primate Elijah Ayodele, the spiritual leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has offered advice to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, emphasizing the importance of discouraging monopoly as a means to rejuvenate Nigeria’s economy.

In his statement, Primate Ayodele asserted that the dominance of certain businessmen in various sectors has contributed to the detriment of the nation’s economy.

According to a press release issued by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, Primate Ayodele urged President Tinubu to actively promote and nurture new entrepreneurs, as doing so would help combat the destructive influence of monopolies and ultimately enhance the nation’s economic prospects.

He elaborated on this point, stating, “The government should encourage new entrepreneurs in businesses in order to improve the economy. The top businessmen are the ones destroying the economy of the country; they are a detriment to Nigeria’s economy, and they are the primary contributors to our economic woes.”

Primate Ayodele also pointed out that certain influential figures in the business world often support political candidates during elections with the expectation of receiving exclusive monopolistic privileges in return. He emphasized that such practices are detrimental to the country’s economic health.

“It’s only one person that wants to be controlling oil, some want to take over the blue economy, some want to monopolize importation and other sectors. They shun competition, which ultimately hampers economic progress,” he observed.

Furthermore, Primate Ayodele underscored that these prominent businessmen are primarily motivated by their personal gain rather than the welfare of the nation. He challenged their claims of providing employment opportunities to Nigerians by questioning the adequacy of their compensation and their overall contributions to the government.

“They are not working in the best interests of Nigerians; they prioritize their own financial interests. While they claim to employ Nigerians, one must question the level of compensation they offer to their workers. They are not aiding the government. It is high time we rectified this situation for the betterment of the country,” he asserted.

In summary, Primate Elijah Ayodele has advised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to take measures to discourage monopolistic practices in various sectors of the economy, as he believes that such monopolies have been detrimental to Nigeria’s economic growth. He urged the government to support and nurture new entrepreneurs, emphasizing that certain powerful businessmen have prioritized their own interests over the nation’s well-being.
