Ten Hag Hints Reguilon Return for Man Utd vs. Copenhagen

Champions League Trophy Scaled

Erik Ten Hag has provided an encouraging update on the potential return of Sergio Reguilon to Manchester United’s lineup for their upcoming UEFA Champions League clash against FC Copenhagen, scheduled to take place at Old Trafford on Tuesday.

Manchester United has faced a challenging start to their Group A campaign, suffering defeats in both matches against Bayern Munich and Galatasaray.

The Red Devils are grappling with a slew of injuries, and Sergio Reguilon, in particular, has had a stop-start season, making just three appearances. While he recently recovered from an injury setback, he was unable to participate in the Saturday victory over Sheffield United due to an unexpected illness.

Erik Ten Hag, Manchester United’s manager, shed light on the situation, stating, “Sergio fell ill on Saturday, which prevented his availability. He underwent a full week of training last week, and he returned to partial training on Sunday. We’re planning a training session on Monday, after which we’ll carefully evaluate his readiness and overall fitness for the game. His inclusion in the squad hinges on that assessment, and we’ll have to exercise patience in this matter.”

Should Sergio Reguilon make a successful comeback, it would undoubtedly provide a significant boost to Manchester United. The absence of the Spaniard has forced midfielder Sofyan Amrabat to take on the unfamiliar role of left-back, highlighting the urgency of Reguilon’s potential return.
