In the aftermath of the tragic passing of Ilerioluwa Aloba, widely known as Mohbad, the Lagos State Police Command has been unwavering in its pursuit of the truth regarding the circumstances surrounding his untimely demise.
Displaying a steadfast commitment to transparency and justice, Commissioner of Police Idowu Owohunwa recently provided a comprehensive update during a media briefing on the ongoing investigation.
During this briefing, Commissioner Owohunwa revealed that detectives have meticulously interviewed a total of 26 crucial witnesses, including individuals such as Mr. Aloba Joseph Oluwabamiwo, Mrs. Abosede Aloba, and Ms. Seyi Awonuga. These witnesses have been instrumental in illuminating the sequence of events leading up to Mohbad’s tragic passing, providing critical insights into the roles played by various individuals involved.
Among the suspects who have been subject to interrogation in connection with the case are Ms. Feyisayo Ogedengbe, Mr. Ayobami Sodiq (Spending), Ibrahim Oluwatosin Owoduni (Prime Boy), Samson Balogun Eletu (Sam Larry), and Abdulazeez Fashola (Naira Marley). These individuals are under scrutiny for their alleged involvement in the chain of events that led to the unfortunate loss of Mohbad.
A significant facet of the investigation centers on the medical aspects of the case. Auxiliary Nurse Feyisayo Ogedengbe, who administered injections to Mohbad, has emerged as the principal suspect. The report from a medical panel, regarded as expert opinion and critical evidence, has pointed to illegal actions and professional negligence in her conduct. The report specifically identifies the administration of IV Ceftriaxone as the probable cause of the anaphylactic reaction that ultimately led to Mohbad’s tragic passing.
The timeline of events leading to Mohbad’s passing spans from September 10th to September 13th, 2023, encompassing incidents in both the Ikorodu and Lekki areas of Lagos State. The investigation has unveiled a complex interplay of factors, including physical altercations, alleged bullying, and threats to Mohbad’s life, involving Naira Marley and Sam Larry. While these individuals have denied any criminal liability, electronic evidence and credible witnesses have linked them to cyberbullying, assault, and conduct likely to incite a breach of the peace concerning the deceased.
To further advance the investigation, an autopsy was conducted on Mohbad’s remains on September 21st, 2023, and vital specimens were forwarded to the Lagos State DNA/Forensic Centre for toxicology examination. Additionally, an official response from the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) is eagerly awaited concerning allegations raised by Mohbad himself in a viral video detailing his experience at the agency’s Lagos Office in October 2022.
The Lagos State Police Command remains steadfast in its dedication to uncovering the truth surrounding Mohbad’s tragic passing and ensuring that justice is administered equitably. As the investigation continues, the public will be promptly informed of further developments as they come to light.
