In a significant development, the highly anticipated Nigerian Premier Football League (NPFL) clash between Lobi Stars and Abia Warriors, originally slated for today, Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Lafia Township Stadium, has been rescheduled.
This decision to postpone the match, which was initially set to kick off at 4 PM in Lafia, is a poignant tribute to the victims of the tragic events that unfolded in Otukpo, Benue State. Armed robbers carried out a brazen attack on four banks in the area yesterday afternoon, resulting in loss of life and widespread turmoil.
The announcement of the postponement came from Dominic Iorfa, Vice Chairman and CEO of Lobi Stars FC, who conveyed his condolences to the affected families in an official statement.
Iorfa’s statement eloquently expressed the club’s heartfelt solidarity and empathy for the grieving families: “It is with profound sadness that we announce the rescheduling of the Lobi Stars NPFL Matchday 4 fixture against Abia Warriors.
