Nimbo Attack: Gov Mbah Vows Justice, says “Enough is Enough”

Enugu State Gove Mbah visits Nimbo

Enugu State Governor, Dr. Peter Mbah, has voiced his firm stance against the recent attack in Nimbo, condemning the violence that claimed the lives of four residents.

In a determined response, he asserted that such acts would no longer be tolerated under his administration’s watch, promising swift action to apprehend the perpetrators.

The Governor, joined by key security officials including the Commissioner of Police, State Director of State Security Services, Garrison Commander of the Nigerian Army’s 82 Division, and the Coordinator of Enugu State Forest Guards, visited Nimbo to address the community’s concerns directly.

During his visit, Governor Mbah emphasized the government’s commitment to collaborate with community leaders and security agencies to bolster security not only in Nimbo but throughout the Uzo Uwani Local Government Area.

Expressing his indignation, Governor Mbah emphasized, “Enough is enough”. We cannot allow our people to live in fear within their own communities.

It is our duty as government to ensure the safety and well-being of our citizens.” He pledged to utilize all available resources to ensure justice is served, promising to pursue and prosecute the culprits responsible for the heinous attack.

Governor Mbah further assured the affected community of government support, announcing plans to cover the medical expenses of the injured and provide assistance to the families of the deceased.

Scholarships for the children of the victims and employment opportunities for survivors were also promised as part of the government’s efforts to alleviate their suffering.

In response to the community’s plea for enhanced security measures, particularly the strengthening of local vigilante groups, Governor Mbah assured them of immediate action.

Recognizing Nimbo’s vulnerability due to its remote location, he pledged to bolster the capacity of local security forces to effectively combat future threats.

The President-General of Nimbo, Mr. Clement Akachukwu, echoed the community’s longstanding struggle against recurrent attacks, emphasizing the urgent need for fortified security measures.

He appealed for increased support for local vigilantes, highlighting their invaluable knowledge of the area’s terrain and potential threats.

In conclusion, Governor Mbah reiterated his administration’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of all residents, declaring that the era of impunity would come to an end.
