Nigeria Police Begin Clampdown On illegal siren, Covered and Fake Govt. Number Plates In Enugu

The Nigeria Police, Enugu state Command has declared arrest and prosecution of users of illegal siren, unregistered vehicles, covered number plates, fake government, private and spy number plates; abusers of diplomatic number plates; and stoppage of the deployment of policemen to unauthorized persons.

This was made public in a statement made available to the media by command Police Public Relations Officer, ASP DANIEL E. NDUKWE on Saturday, 25th, 2020.

According to the statement, “Enugu State Command Of The Nigeria Police Force, Wishes To Inform The Public, Particularly Residents Of The State, That It Has Come To Its Knowledge The Flagrant Use Of Illegal Siren, Unregistered Vehicles, Covered Number Plates, Fake Government, Private And SPY Number Plates; As Well As The Abuse Of Diplomatic Number Plates And The Use Of Unauthorized Policemen By Some Person(S) In The State”.

”Consequently, The Command Wishes To State In Clear Terms That It Will Fully Enforce The Directive Of The Inspector General Of Police, IGP Mohammed Adamu, NPM, Mni To Arrest And Prosecute Any Person(S) Involved In The Use Of Illegal Siren, Unregistered Vehicles; Covered Number Plates; Fake Government, Private And SPY Number Plates; As Well As The Abuse Of Diplomatic Number Plates In The Sate”.

“To This End, The Commissioner Of Police, CP Ahmad Abdurrahman MCPSS, MCJ, MNIM, While Enjoining Citizens Of The State To Remain Law-Abiding, Has Directed Operatives Of The Command To Arrest, Impound Vehicles And Prosecute Anyone Found Wanting, Regardless Of Class Or Status”.

“He Further Warned And Directed Area Commanders, Dpos, Heads Of Tactical / Operational Departments And Formations In The Command To Desist Forthwith, The Deployment Of Personnel To Unauthorized Person(S), While Unauthorized Policemen Found Attached To Vips And/Or Individuals Must Be Arrested And Sanctioned Accordingly”.
