Archbishop Chukwuma charges political leaders to emulate humility of Jesus Christ

The Archbishop of Enugu Ecclesiastical Province, Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, the Most Reverend Emmanuel Chukwuma has called on Christians to emulate Jesus Christ by imbibing the vrtues of integrity, humility, honesty, love and care for others as Christendom marks Palm today.

The Most Reverend Chukwuma made the call during a sermon at the Cathedral Church of the Good Shepherd Independence Layout, Enugu, to mark the celebration of Palm Sunday. The Archbishop said Christians should shun sinful life and live a life of holiness.

Archbishop Chukwuma who is the Anglican Bishop of Enugu Diocese, urged those in leadership positions to emulate the humility of Jesus Christ, urging them to use this time of the nation’s trying moment to visit their constituents and extend love to those most vulnerable to the coronavirus pandemic ravaging the world.

He urged Christians to always conduct themselves peacefully as Christ’s followers stressing that Jesus Christ entered Jerusalem as the Prince of Peace and not as tyrant. The Church offered special prayers for healing, deliverance from Coronavirus pandemic, kidnapping, crisis and personal needs of members.

Social distancing protocol and other standard hygiene guidelines outlined by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) was observed by the Church during the service.
