In a tragic incident on Wednesday evening, a mentally-ill individual named Ali Denham unleashed a horrifying killing spree in Libbo Ward, Kate-Gamji village, located in the Sheleng Local Government Area of Adamawa State. The motives behind Denham’s violent actions remain shrouded in mystery, leaving the community in shock.
Disturbed by the alarming situation, enraged youths from the village took matters into their own hands. They confronted Denham, managed to disarm him, and subsequently subjected him to a fatal beating. Sources report that Denham’s indiscriminate attacks with a knife claimed the lives of at least nine villagers, targeting anyone who crossed his path, including an elderly woman and man. The assailant ensured each victim was fatally wounded before moving on to the next.
The aftermath of this horrific event saw the deceased victims laid to rest on Thursday evening. Meanwhile, the family members of the mentally-ill suspect reportedly fled the community, presumably overwhelmed by the grim consequences of Denham’s actions.
