APC Opposes Planned Protest in UK Against Tinubu

President Tinubu

The leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) UK Chapter has expressed its strong disapproval of an upcoming protest against President Bola Tinubu in London, deeming it a misguided endeavor.

Mr. Tunde Doherty, the Chairman of the UK chapter of the ruling party, conveyed this stance in a statement released on Friday from Lagos.

Doherty, who also holds the position of Chairman for the APC Committee of Diaspora, explained that he felt compelled to address recent allegations and statements made by a group led by Aisha Yesufu, an activist and supporter of the Labour Party. This group intends to stage a protest in London with the aim of raising concerns about President Tinubu’s educational qualifications.

“We have been made aware of an impending protest in London organized by this group, intending to disseminate unsubstantiated claims about President Bola Tinubu’s educational credentials,” Doherty stated.

“We firmly believe that our responsibility lies in addressing this matter and emphasizing the importance of relying on verified facts rather than premature and unverified allegations.”

Doherty praised President Bola Tinubu’s extensive and distinguished service to the nation, highlighting his unwavering commitment to the betterment of Nigeria and its people throughout his career.

“The allegations of forged certificates not only lack concrete evidence but also undermine the fundamental principles of democracy and fair political discourse that we deeply cherish,” Doherty concluded.
