The Ogun State House of Assembly is set to conduct an evaluation of the 2023 budget performance for the third quarter of the year, as reported on October 22, 2023, by Ishola Oludare.

This assessment will encompass various ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs) of the state government, as well as the local government councils. The primary objective is to gauge their adherence to the 2023 Appropriation Law.

In an official statement from ‘Deji Adeyemo, the Clerk of the Assembly and Head of Legislative Service, this exercise is a fundamental aspect of the legislative branch’s responsibilities aimed at enhancing accountability and transparency in governance.

Adeyemo elaborated that this undertaking aligns with the constitutional framework, specifically sections 128 and 129 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended).

The evaluation of budget performance will commence daily at 10 am and conclude on Monday, October 30, 2023. Adeyemo emphasized the importance of cooperation from all MDAs within the state government and local government councils in providing the requisite documents and information to ensure the successful execution of this assessment.
