Lagos State Police have detained two men, identified as scavengers, in connection with the murder of a man known only as Friday. The arrest was confirmed by SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, on Saturday.

The incident came to light when an individual, whose identity has not been disclosed, reported to the Ilemba Hausa Police Division on Friday at approximately 4:30 pm. The report indicated that earlier that day, around 11 am, the complainant heard his elder brother, Friday, 34, crying out for help from their residence.

Rushing to the scene, the complainant found Friday lying in a pool of blood, while two suspects, later identified as 20-year-old Abubakar Haruna and 18-year-old Mohammed Abdullahi, were seen fleeing. Initial investigations suggest that the suspects, who are scavengers, had entered a nearby uncompleted building to steal roofing sheets.
