The crises rocking the Enugu state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) seems to be on the verge of taking a long lasting end, as the State Executive Committee under the leadership of Comrade Ac Ude directed all the Zonal chairmen to settle the disputes that emanated from the conduct of the State Congresses.
Speaking with News Center NG after the Committee meeting held on Friday, at the State Party Office, GRA, Enugu, the State chairman of the Party comrade Adolphus Ude stated that the decision became necessary following report that some members of the Party are not happy with the manner which they were treated during the Congresses in their various political Wards and local Government Areas across the 3 Senatorial Zones in the State .
“As you can see, over 68 members of the State Executive Committee attended the meeting today because, we believe that APC is one and as brothers, we settle our quarrels internally”
“We have instructed that this issue be settled within 2 weeks so as to get the Party ready Ahead of other tasks;which is galvanising more members to be able to be in a good position Ahead of elections in the state.
” We have defeated our common enemy who are agents of disunity sent by the opposition political parties to destabilise us and we will continue to increase the momentum”
“in the next 14 days, a meeting across the 3 Senatorial districts in the state would be held because, we have a cohesion amongst us that brings this bond of togetherness as people with a vision to win elections”
“Our Zonal chairmen has been mandated to do this within the next few days, as APC Enugu State is better than we assume it to be”
The State leadership also reiterated their commitment in supporting President muhammadu Buhari’s led Federal Government while also thanking the immidate past State chairman, Dr Ben Nwoye for always standing for the interest of the Party and also his role in promoting the Party which he said, has made it, almost a household name in Enugu State.
“We are strongly in support of the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari and all his policies that are geared towards making Nigeria a place to behold”
“We wish to state our unalloyed support towards his programmes because they are all about the people ; made for the interest of the people especially, the poor masses ”
“We thank the immidate past State chairman of the Party in Enugu State, Dr Ben Nwoye for being a good advocate of democracy and always being a good Party man”
“His strong belief in President Muhammadu Buhari’s bottom – up approach in Party leadership is a virtue that has helped in deepening the internal democracy that exists currently in the Party”
