Nigerian International, Nosa Igiebor has disclosed how internal politics within National Team cost him a place at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. Igiebor who was one of the notable names in the triumphant squad at the 2013 AFCON in South Africa failed to make the cut to Brazil.
According to former Anathorsis Famagusta midfielder, the issue started when he lost his place to Sunday Mba at the Africa Cup of Nations. The coach preferred to start the then Enugu Rangers player who went ahead to become the hero of the tournament scoring in both the semi-final and final games against Ivory Coast and Burkina
Faso respectively. Surprisingly Mba was also dropped from the squad to the World Cup.
Recall that Igiebor started his career with Sharks (Portharcourt) moved to Warri Wolves (Warri), Real Betis (Spain), capped 15 times for the Super Eagles and scored 2 goals.
