Enugu State Deputy Governor, Hon. Mrs. Cecelia Ezeilo, has visited the Enugu-Benue and the Enugu-Kogi land borders in continuation of the state government’s monitoring of the compliance of the ban of inter-state movements , measure put in place by the government to contain the spread of the COVID-19 disease in the state, giving a directive on total lockdown of land borders.

She also directed that inter-state transportation of people should stop with exception of movement of people on essential duties and items classified as essential.

At Amala-Inyi border of Enugu and Benue states, she told the security agents at the borders that she was sent by the State governor, Rt. Hon. IfeaEnugu Deputy Gov 2

nyi Ugwuanyi to ascertain the level of compliance and find out from them their challenges.

She thanked them for the good job they were doing and advised them to turn back travellers who were not on essential duty. The deputy governor also told them that “vehicles do not transmit COVID-19 rather human beings do. Coronavirus is real”

The Area commander, Edwin Ogbeghagha told the deputy governor that the Benue State governor, Dr Samuel Ortom was at the border and met with the Heads of Security Agencies in Enugu State .

He said that it was agreed that there is need for Benue State to beef up her security strategies at the boundaries to enhance the full actualization of the restriction order aimed at containing the spread of Coronovirus Disease (COVID-19).
He thanked the state government for building a house and provided electricity for them.

Chairman of Udenu Local government area, Solomon Onah advised the people to always observe the safety measures of regular hand washing, wearing of face masks, social distancing, and others.

She presented hand sanitizer, face masks and some other gifts to them.

At the Olepe Ette Enugu-Kogi border, the deputy governor encouraged the security agents to continue with their good works. She promised them that in 72 hours they would have a house and electricity at the place. She donated some items( hand sanitizer, face masks and others to them.

Speaking, the Divisional police officer, Igboeze north, Anagor Chinedu thanked the deputy governor for the donation and appealed that an iron barricade should be provided at the border, noting that the place is a major border.

In company of the Deputy Governor were the Speaker of Enugu State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Edward Ubosi, the Leader of the House, Rt. Hon. Ikechukwu Ezeugwu ,the Member representing Enugu South Urban also the House committee chairman on Health ,Hon Sam Ngene ,member representing orji River,the State Commissioner for Special Duties, Mrs. Mabel Agbo, the chairman of Igboeze north local government area, Engr Ejike Itodo :am
