Rangers International FC of Enugu Striker, Israel Abia has stated that winning games has been his primary focus for the team, adding that scoring goals was also necessary for his confidence.
However, the LMC suspended the NPFL till further notice in line with global health preventive protocols and would review it’s decision when the situation is safe to do so.
In telephone chat with the former Heartland and Sunshine stars player, he is aware that some other strikers from other teams are on his trail and would try to surpass him on the NPFL scorers chart. According to the striker, he is not under any form of pressure and that the game is not about taken personnel glory rather is a collective job, in which any anybody can score from any position.
Recall that Israel Abia was transferred from Sunshine Stars of Akure to Enugu Rangers in the January window, and he is the top marksman in the 2019/20 season with 12 goals closely followed by Mustapha Ibrahim (Plateau United), Ndefrieke Effiong (Akwa Untied) and Auwal Malam Ali (Kano Pillars) on 11 goals apiece.
